Chongqing, October 10, 2025 – Xinyide Auto Parts (Group) Co., Ltd. announced today that it recently successfully passed the rigorous audit process of the Volkswagen Group and officially became its global seat component supplier. The company will provide seat frames and recliner assemblies for Volkswagen's MEB electric platform vehicles. This breakthrough marks Xinyide's entry into the supply chain of a major international automaker and a key step in its global expansion.
According to reports, to enter the Volkswagen supply chain, Xinyide completed product development, process validation, and quality system certification over 18 months, achieving multiple international certifications, including ISO/TS 16949 Automotive Industry Quality Management System and IATF 16949:2016. The seat frames supplied are made of high-strength, lightweight alloy material, reducing weight by 20% compared to traditional steel frames while increasing compressive strength by 15%, meeting the demands of pure electric vehicles for increased range. Xinyide's sales director revealed, "The company has established a global customer network. In addition to Volkswagen in Germany, we have also entered the supplier networks of international automakers such as Chrysler in the United States and PSA in France. Domestic customers include major automakers such as FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC-GM, BYD, and Geely. In 2024, the company's overseas revenue accounted for 35%, and with the completion of Volkswagen's orders, we expect this proportion to rise to 45% in 2025."
As a key enterprise in Chongqing's auto parts industry, Xinyide's international expansion has also received support from the local government. A representative from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology stated that they will continue to promote cooperation between local auto parts companies and international automakers, helping Chongqing build a world-class automotive industry cluster.
