Chongqing, September 5, 2025 – In response to the national "dual carbon" strategy and the green development trend in the automotive industry, Xinyide Auto Parts (Group) Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of a green factory upgrade project. With a total investment of 230 million yuan, the project will be used to transform production workshops for energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as develop a green supply chain system. Upon completion in the first quarter of 2026, the company's production energy consumption is expected to decrease by 18% and wastewater discharge by 25%.
According to reports, the green factory upgrade will focus on three key initiatives: first, the introduction of a photovoltaic rooftop power generation system, with an estimated annual power generation of 2 million kWh, meeting 30% of the factory's electricity needs; second, the renovation of the seat foaming production line, replacing traditional solvent-based materials with water-based polyurethane, reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by 60%; and third, the establishment of a green supplier evaluation system, requiring core suppliers to achieve ISO 14001 environmental management system certification, to jointly build a sustainable supply chain. Xin Yide's General Manager stated, "With increasingly stringent green supply chain requirements from international clients like Sony and Volkswagen, building an environmentally friendly production system has become a core competitive advantage for auto parts manufacturers. Our company's green factory upgrade is not only a reflection of our social responsibility, but also a strategic initiative to enhance our international competitiveness. We have already initiated discussions with Sony Group regarding Green Partner certification and expect to receive the certification in 2026."
Officials from the Chongqing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau praised Xin Yide's green transformation, believing it sets a benchmark for environmental upgrades among Chongqing's auto parts companies and will contribute to the sustainable development of the entire industry.
